(Click to enlarge) Chapter president Barry Kriegsman admires a few of Bill's locomotives that are staged in the yard attached to the rear of the caboose. Behind Barry is a small dinette table, bench seating, overhead cabinets and other items typically found inside a real caboose. An overhead cupola is included that undoubtedly is the favorite viewing spot for Bill's junior admirers. |

(Click to enlarge) A beautiful fall afternoon provided the atmosphere for a visit from chapter members to see this amazing layout. There's plenty of room in Bill's yard to view his layout from any perspective. (Click to enlarge) A closer view of the main portion of the layout. Several chapter members are examining a loop beneath the working replica of a grade crossing signal, complete with working warning lamps and bells. (Click to enlarge) A panoramic view of Bill's back yard and layout. A newly-constructed interlocking tower appears in the picture to the left. Access to the tower is from wooden stairs below and Bill already plans to include a remote set of layout controls for an even more spectacular viewing experience. As you can see and imagine, Bill is a stickler for details and he and his wife obviously have a green thumb. A complex system of electronic relays to be housed in a reproduction switch control panel is "on deck". |
